We’re excited to announce a major moment in our journey. We want to start by saying thank you to the news outlets that have given us a platform to share our vision. Your articles have helped bring the Arizona Independent Party (AIP) into focus, and for that we are grateful.
Special Media coverage we’re thankful for:
California Globe ran an article titled “No Labels Rebrands as Arizona Independent Party, Joins with Andrew Yang’s Forward Party”, helping explain our re-brand and our new partnership.
The Forward Party published “Newly-formed Arizona Independent Party Joins with National Forward Party to Create Pathway for Independent Candidates to Run for Office.” That perfectly outlines exactly what we intend to do: expand opportunities for independent candidates and voters.
Azcentral covered the implications of our name change and how it might be confusing to Arizona voters. We have an article that discusses this topic and debunks that theory. Check it out here.
KJZZ looked at our partnership with the National Forward Party in “Arizona Independent Party partners with Andrew Yang’s Forward Party to field candidates.”
Thank you to each of these authors and outlets for asking questions and helping the public understand what we’re building. We hope you will continue to follow our journey.
Why this moment matters
We believe this is a turning point for Arizona politics. Here’s a quick summary of what’s changed and why it matters:
The party formerly known as the No Labels Party of Arizona has officially re-branded as the Arizona Independent Party.
With our new name and aligned mission, we are partnering with the Forward Party on infrastructure, recruiting candidates, and creating fresh pathways for independents and solution-oriented leaders to run for office.
We see a future where voters in Arizona who don’t feel fully represented by the traditional major parties have an alternative home — a place for independent thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, not partisan gridlock.
The coverage from the media helps clarify what we are doing: not simply forming another party for its own sake, but creating space for a different kind of politics — one driven by ideas, not partisanship.
What’s next for us
Looking ahead, here’s what we’re focused on:
Recruiting candidates who believe in solutions over slogans: these people are willing to cross party lines, engage communities, listen, and act with the best interest of the people.
Engaging voters: sharing more about what “independent” means in practical terms and how people can get involved.
Ballot access and organization: making sure that Arizona voters and independent-leaning candidates have a fair pathway to participate.
Communicating clearly: changes like a re-branding and partnerships can create confusion, we’ll continue explaining how this works, what it means for voters, and how it preserves the voice of independent Arizonans.
To the media outlets listed above, your reporting shines a light on the kind of change many Arizonans are seeking. You help make our mission visible.
And to everyone who is exploring what it means to be “independent” in today’s political climate: we invite you to stay connected, ask questions, and join us if you feel aligned. Together we can open new doors, shape better conversations, and build a home for independent voices in Arizona.
