Situation Update: The Arizona Clean Elections

The Arizona Clean Elections Commission is now using your tax dollars to hire lawyers—not to expand voter access, not to improve transparency, but to fight against the ability of independent-minded Arizonans to run for office.

Instead of protecting voters, they’re trying to restrict competition.

Independent and unaffiliated voters already face the highest signature requirements in the state—nearly eight times what Republicans and Democrats need. Now, the Commission is spending public money to oppose even the basic administrative steps that would give independents a fair chance to participate.

This isn’t about policy.

This isn’t about fairness.

It’s about defending the two-party monopoly using taxpayer-funded legal muscle.

Arizonans deserve better. We deserve a system where new ideas can compete, where unaffiliated voters have the same rights as everyone else, and where our tax dollars are used to empower voters, not suppress them.

The future of Arizona should be decided by its citizens—not gatekept by government-funded lawyers protecting the status quo.
